TUTORIAL
STEP1: Create Image from an original game

For creating a legal backup of your original game you need to get yourself one of the following Samsung DVD Drives:
- SH-D162C
- SH-D163A
- SH-D162D
- SH-D163B

It shouldn't cost more than 20 - 30 US$. Some gameshops / onlinestores sell them already preflashed with the KREON Firmware which is required to dump your original game to your PC.

If you need to flash the drive yourself with the KREON Firmware then download your version here:

- Kreon's Firmware for Samsung SH-D162C drives
- Kreon's Firmware for Samsung SH-D163A drives
- Kreon's Firmware for Samsung SH-D162D drives
- Kreon's Firmware for Samsung SH-D163B drives

Flash SAMSUNG SH-D162C/D or SH-D163A/B KREON Firmware:

this step only has to be executed one time because the KREON Firmware remains in the drive forever or until you flash another firmware into it.

- make sure there is no CD/DVD inside of the drive!!!
- start (doubleclick) sfdnwin.exe
- select your Samsung drive from pulldownmenu: TSSTcorpDVD-ROM SH-D16....
- at the top left click "DOWNLOAD FILE OPEN"
- select file: SH-D16.......XB360_KREON_....bin
- at the top left click "START DOWNLOAD" (button in the middle)

after successfully flashing the drive you will receive the message: "DOWNLOAD OK!! RESTART WINDOWS."

Reboot your PC. You can now use the drive for making legal Xbox-360 Backups.

Create Image:

- Download Schtrom by clicking here.
- start Schtrom
- insert XBox-360 game into the Samsung SH-D16x drive
- in the first pulldownmenu select your Samsung drive (TSSTcorp....)
- below enter the path where you want to save the image to.
- For the TASK select: whole disc (stealth xtreme 3.0)
- click EXTRACT using your left mousebutton
- reading the complete game takes less than 10 minutes.
- Schtrom creates a file called IMAGE1.000 and a file called IMAGE1.dvd
- the IMAGE1.000 file is our complete image.
- no need to take care of the Securitysector here because Schtrom extracts it in one go and saves it within your IMAGE1.000 file.

You have successfully created an XTreme Image. Now proceed with STEP 2 to make the image compatible to the NME-360 Chip.

STEP2: Convert XTreme Image to NME-Format

If you have downloaded your backup from the internet then it is in most cases an XTreme Image if not stated different.
In case the download is stated as NME-compatible then skip step 2 and proceed with step 3.

- open the NME aSSociat0r (download here) - .net Framework 2.0 required which you can download here.
- click the CONVERT Tab
- select the XTreme iso (IMAGE1.000 if created by yourself using schtrom)
- hit the big CONVERT button
- after 2 seconds the image file is fully converted to NME-format.
- the image must now be exactly 7.705.657.344 Bytes of size. (in KB it is 7.525.056)

If your Image is a Xtreme Splitvid Image then the splitvid part will be deleted from the image. As we ask you
to not to play a backup online but only originals the splitvid part is of no use for us. However you will receive a
message that the image may already have been patched. Ignore it and patch anyway. Probably we will support splitvid in a later version of the NME-aSSociat0r.

STEP3: Burn your backup

Open ImgBurn (download here - it's free)

- select the tab burn image
- select the image.dvd file as it contains the required information of the layerbreak and the name of the image itself.
- hit the WRITE button to burn your backup.

F.A.Q
F.A.Q.

Q:Will NME360 work with my drive?
A:Yes! If you have Hitachi/LG or Toshiba/Samsung or BenQ/Philips drive

Q:Is it hard to install?
A: Not for experienced technicians, anyway the Samsung and BenQ drives are much easier to do than the Hitachi.

Q: What is the difference between NME-360 compared to the Xtreme bios mod
A: First of all we think that our code is cleaner and more sophisticated. NME
360 is an intelligent  chip which automatically switches itself off if you play an
original game, therefore you donīt need any external switch whatsoever.
No need to have dual firmwares , no need to read out any keys from the drive
and no chance to brick your drive.

Q: Can I play Xbox Live with NME 360
A: Yes you can! When you play original games NME 360 will not patch anything,
so the drive is like an original unmodified one. We recommend that you DON`T play
backups on live,  due to the risk of being banned.

Q :What kind of media should I use?
A:You need to use double layer DVD media, we have found that Verbatim DVD+R DL is the
best to do backups on and itīs REALLY important that you use good media.

Q:Do I need to tweak my laser?
A:On BenQ drives, Samsung drives and Hitachi 78/79 drives there's no need to tweak the laser
at all. For optimal performance on Hitachi 46 - 59 drives you might tweak
the Laser a bit and make sure you use quality media. We recommend Verbatim.
Check diagrams for how to tweak the laser.

Q: Will the ISOs made with the converter still play on a Xtreme patched drive?
A: Yes, we don't touch the Xtreme security sector, we just add our own, so
it will play fine.

Q: Why is your solution not compatible with Xtreme images?
A: We started development before the Xtreme hack was available, and
decided that the end of the 2nd layer was the perfect spot for the security
sector. As it is not at the same location as the Xtreme hack, the ISO needs to
be converted first.

Q: Can you explain a bit more in detail?
A: To keep the number of wires as small as possible, we carefully selected
the location of our security sector, and chose PSN 0xFC021E. Originally
the SS is at 0xFD021E. Also our security sector is of a more compressed
type, requiring less patches in the firmware and therefore less wires to solder.

Q: Do I need to cut any traces on the mainboard of my DVD drive?
A: No need to cut any traces anywhere.

Q. Will the NME-360 chip work on a drive which is flashed with Xtreme firmware?
A: No the nme2.0 can only be installed when the drive is not softmodded aka firmwareflashed.
We suggest to restore the firmware, after that you can install the chip.

Q:I have a PAL / JAP / USA Xbox360. Does your chip work with my machine?
A: Yes, it is compatible to your XBox360.

Q: Will your chip enable my XBox360 to boot games from other regions?
A: The XBox360 is a regionfree system It is up to the software developers if
they set a region code to the game or not. Most games don't have a regioncode
so you can play for example a PAL game on a NTSC machine or vice versa.
Some games are regionprotected this means you can only play them on a same
region console. The same rools apply for backups. The NME2.0 Chip does not override
the regional protection of the XBox 360.

Q: What's the price of your fantastic NME-360 Modchip?
A: Our suggested retail price is 39.95 Euro and resellers may feel free to get in touch
with us or our distributors for quantity discounts.

Q: I have a backup and it works perfect in the flashed Xbox360 of my friend but not on my
NME-360 modded Box. I am only receiveing the message: "Please insert this game into an XBox360".
A: Looks like you havent converted the image with the NME aSSociat0r before burning it. Start NME aSSociat0r,
hit the convert tab, open the image file, hit the convert button and then burn it with imgburn or clonecd.
Don't forget to take care of the layerbreak too by opening the .dvd file in your burning software. The .dvd file
contains the necessary layerbreak information. If you don't have the .dvd file but only the .000 image file then
open this one and set the layer break manually in IMGBurn. For this go to
TOOLS -> SETTINGS -> WRITE -> OPTIONS -> Layer Break (For DL Media) -> hit user specified and enter 1913760

Q: I just installed the nme360 v2.0 chip and now I am getting an E65 error.
A: E65 is DVD Firmware Error. This means the Drive doesnt supply a firmware to the Xbox360 at all. Most likely
this is because of a short connection to the datalines from the chip to the DVD Drive Board. At first you should
desolder the chip completely and see if the Xbox360 works fine again without chip. If it works ok then reinstall
the chip and take care of a really good install with no shorts whatsoever. If the Xbox360 still shows the same error
after you desoldered the chip then there is most likely still a short connection between some points of the
Firmware Flash IC. Clean the solder points with flux and retry from scratch.

Q: Before the NME aSSociat0r process, the iso is 100% stealth passing all the checks from xbox backup creator
including the splitDVD check. But after nme associator process, the splitDVD check fails.
A: well what the nme associat0r does is it deletes the splitvid stuff from the image and then copies the ss to the appropriate
location to make the game work with nme 2.0. We are working on an updated version of the aSSociat0r which doesnt touch
the splitvid section of the image. but as we find it not very important to use stealth backups at all because we always suggest
to only play originals online there was not a real rush for us to program this feature into the aSSociat0r. Anyway we will add it but will take some time.

Q: Is it necessary to update the firmware once the chip is fitted or does the chip use the existing firmware?
A: No need to update the firmware of the DVD-Drive after installing the chip. It is using the original firmware and patches it on the fly.
